The biggest question when you need to sell your collectibles is– do you sell online or do you sell locally? There are definite pros and cons to each option, but most people tend to go the online route because it usually yields at or above the actual book value for the item being sold. And regardless of if you’re selling for profit or if you truly held the collectible for sentimental value, selling at the highest price possible is very important.

If you do decide to sell online, here are the options we’d recommend you consider:

Neatstuff Collectibles

Pros:

Will travel to you for appraisal, Offers are cash on the spot

Cons:

None!

Bottom line:

Yes, we’re biased. But that doesn’t mean we’re wrong. If an easy tranaction and getting the most cash for your collectibles is important to you, then you should give us a call or fill out our inquiry form!

eBay

Pros:

Decent chance of selling for a good price

Cons:

Takes a lot of work, Requires a lot of knowledge on how eBay operates for best results

Bottom line:

eBay is a blessing and a curse for sellers. If you have the time to take high quality pictures, write in-depth descriptions, answer questions and ship your items, then eBay may be a good fit for you. It also helps to know how to structure auctions as far as the starting price, the duration, etc.

Craigslist

Pros:

Easy transaction

Cons:

Low chance of finding a good buyer, geographically restricted

Bottom line:

Craigslist is all about easy local transactions. However the downfall is that you only reach buyers in your area, which limits the chance you find a high-paying buyer.

Meetup

Pros:

Easy transaction

Cons:

Geographically restricted, won’t reach many buyers

Bottom line:

If there’s a local meetup related to your collectibles that you can attend, that may be a great spot to find a willing buyer, or at least announce your interest in selling your collectibles. If you find a buyer it could be an easy transaction, however the price may not be as high as you want because they don’t have to compete against many other sellers.

Your Own Network (Email, Facebook, Twitter, etc)

Pros:

Easy transaction with someone familiar

Cons:

Small audience, not the right audience, tough to negotiate deals with friends and family

Bottom line:

Negotiating against friends and family is tough and could get messy, so don’t expect the highest selling price here. However this could be an easy transaction if you find the right buyer.

So many options to sell your collectibles online! We hope you choose Neatstuff Collectibles when you’re ready to sell. At least let us make an offer before you go somewhere else! Give us a call at 800-326-7064 or fill out this form and we will get back to you shortly!

  1. I have a Gordie Howe autographed white Detroit home jersey in a beautiful frame with letter of authenticity. What do you estimate it is worth? What do you estimate I can get for it?
